Now I should really say, this is one amazing laptop. Once when my lenovo Y510 got fried, i learned from that mistake about the things that I should have in my mind when I buy a laptop.
Let me tell you about the problems that I faced with Lenovo.
Firstly, over heating : this is something you should be really careful. See if the laptop has got proper air circulation within. XPS 14 remains chilled even after a full stretch of 16 hrs gameplay. There wouldn't be any heat produced in the laptop surface except for the exhaust vent.
Second problem I faced was terrible battery backup : I bought a 6 cell battery for my Y 510; which gave a 3 hr backup in the initial stages. This kept dripping terribly and within a year, I got a 10 mins battery backup. I would not completely blame Lenovo for this. There is mistake from my side as well. I could have got a better battery life if I would have properly charged and discharged the battery. Now i understand not to use laptop with AC power supply continously.
Windows 7 has got a wonderful feature to disable battery charging once when the battery is full. So now I am cautious about this.
Next is nothing but the biggest problem I faced :
I had a Nvidia 8400 card with 128 mb memory. This was pretty less, however due to over heating this got fried. Now XPS 14 comes with Nvidia GT425 M card with 2 gb memory.
Processor : Intel Core i7 Quadra core system of 1.73GHz and with turbo boost technology, it takes upto 2.90 GHz. Runs on Windows 7 x64 environment.
The laptop has got a DDR3 RAM with 4GB memory. COD Black Ops runs smoothly with Direct X 11 support and Nvidia tesselation is remarkable.
The widescreen LED display with true life brings picture to a reality with crystal clarity.
USB 3.0 helps me in super fast data transfer to my external hard drive. Has also got HDMI/DVI output. I also get nearly 30 m coverage of wifi signal.
I would proudly suggest Dell XPS 14 to everyone.
